AREA203 Announces Record Growth and Huge Year-Over-Year Gains for 2010

CHATTANOOGA, Tennessee, USA (January 27, 2011) – Chattanooga-based digital agency AREA203 Marketing today announced its earnings report for 2010, and also shared insight on contributing factors to the company’s substantial growth since its inception just three years ago. AREA203 President Doug Freeman stated, “AREA203 is an agency of talented digital mentors focused on making our clients number one through leading technology and ideas. Today, I’m confident we stand well-positioned as major contenders in the digital marketing arena.”

AREA203 reported revenue of nearly $46 million in 2010—a 35% increase over their 2009 revenue. “The numbers announced today have exceeded even our most optimistic forecasts. It is truly satisfying to see 35% published growth,” said Hemant Butti, VP of Marketing. He added, “Our 106% increased headcount underscores our continued growth.”

Four months ago, AREA203 announced a finalized agreement in which it assumed managing control of Leadpile. In the recent months leading up to the announcement, the Phoenix-based performance marketing platform had risen to the forefront among its competitors, earning a spot in the 2009 and 2010 Inc. 5000, alongside America’s fastest-growing private companies.

Last spring, AREA203 sent an exploratory team to Central America and set up a field office. Shortly thereafter, the opening of a Guatemala City office was announced. The agency partnered with the Guatemala Tourism Board (INGUAT) and immediately began working on a brand awareness campaign, targeting international travelers in the U.S. In a previous statement, Freeman said, “The opening of our Guatemala City office has allowed us to develop and leverage a deeper understanding of modern consumer behavior outside of the U.S. [And] this, in turn, lets us provide our overseas clients with more comprehensive marketing solutions.”

Since opening its doors, the agency’s headcount has increased considerably from 14 people in early 2008 to nearly 60 today—approximately 15% of whom speak Spanish fluently. The company’s business strategy for 2011 includes plans to nearly double its workforce by year’s end.

AREA203 Marketing is a digital agency that emerged from the growing demand for a new kind of marketing agency—one that holds innovation at its core; where strategic insights stir up results-driven, creative solutions. With offices in the U.S. and Central America, AREA203 delivers a broad range of services, with capabilities supporting both online and offline marketing channels.
